MISSION

Goodwill of Southern Nevada is here to fight poverty with jobs. We do it because jobs are a solution.

HOW GOODWILL WORKS

WE TREAT THE CAUSE NOT JUST THE SYMPTOMS

For over 100 years, Goodwill’s all over our country have fought to end unemployment. We are driven to succeed, because jobs matter to people, families, our community, and our economy more than you might have ever imagined.

Jobs help break the cycle of poverty.

Goodwill provides a hand up, not a handout, by preparing job seekers for sustained meaningful employment, helping them become self-reliant and upwardly mobile at work and in life.

Jobs help cure homelessness, hunger, addiction, crime and more.

When people work, they are less likely to require assistance, which allows our nonprofit community partners to focus on serving those who need them most.

Jobs are a major ingredient in stable, happy, healthy families.

Recent studies* concluded that the negative consequences of losing a job extend far beyond the individual and destabilize families.

Jobs reduce the demand for State, Local, and Federal Government assistance.

When people are earning steady, regular incomes, they are less dependent on assistance from our Local, State, and Federal Government.

Jobs are the building blocks of healthy local economies.

Employment provides people with the means to spend contributing directly to the growth, health, and strength of our local economy.

MISSION STATEMENT

Goodwill of Southern Nevada, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide education, employment and training for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, and to maximize the quality of life for each individual served.

Goodwill is an innovative and sustainable social enterprise that turns donations of gently used goods into new jobs and new careers for the members of our local community. We provide employment, job training and other community-based programs for people with disabilities, those who lack education or job experience, and clients facing other challenges to finding employment.
