We may be famous for our iconic thrift stores, but there is so much more to your Southern Nevada Goodwill. When you donate goods, and shop in our stores, you are helping Goodwill earn revenues that are used to put unemployed people to work in local jobs. It’s how we fight poverty with jobs and build a stronger Southern Nevada community.
We turn your donations and purchases into thousands of job placements every year.
Donated goods are the fuel that powers Goodwill. In 2019, over 790,000 generous Southern Nevadans donated goods. By donating goods, over 26 million pounds were diverted from local landfills. Goodwill sorts and processes these generous gifts for sale in our iconic stores.
Goodwill’s famous thrift stores are the engine which allows us to provide a systemic solution to poverty in our community. In 2019, millions of shoppers helped Goodwill generate revenue to cover administrative costs, operate Career Centers and provide free job training and placement services.
GET PEOPLE JOBS
In 2019, revenues from donated goods sold at our retail stores allowed us to serve the job training needs of more than 8,300 people. We directly placed more than 2,600 job seekers into local jobs with local employers.
